A new trailer has appeared for No Man’s Sky, talking about the exploration, or more exactly, showing off exploration.
Now, I do enjoy the idea of exploring strange new worlds, seeking out new life forms and new civilisations, to boldly go where no man has gone before, and with 18 quintillion planets, No Man’s Sky has got that down well. With varied creatures and plant life on the planets you can explore, it does add variety and a bit of individualism to each planet, along with random outposts that are dotted around explored areas.
We get to see a few shots of landing and take-off, though I am hoping that these are sped up and scripted, as they seem to be very automatic instead of manually controlled. We also get to see a lot of different ship designs as well. According to this video the challenge is to explore to the centre of the universe, which I think is a noble goal and probably will take a while. Even the post script says that it would take around 5 billion years to explore every planet in the game, which is longer than the Earth has been around.
