Heralding its arrival with an explosion-packed trailer, Homefront: The Revolution releases today in North America, and on May 20th for the EU region. There’s little info in the trailer itself, but Dambuster has revealed that more content will be coming to the game, some of it for free. The “Expansion Pass” will include three further iterations on the single player story, and it will unlock some bonuses in the online co-operative “Resistance Mode.” Further updates to the co-op will be free to all players, with the first set of missions to come in June.

Official Press Release

Planegg, May 17 2016: Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios today proudly announce the release this week of their new epic first person shooter HOMEFRONT®: THE REVOLUTION. Available today May 17th in the Americas and May 20th throughout the rest of the world, players will be able to immerse themselves in this truly unique story driven shooter, taking the role of a resistance fighter together with a handful of other determined individuals, they fight to liberate Philadelphia from oppression and occupying forces.

“With Homefront®: The Revolution we deliver a reboot of the Homefront IP, a brand new open world shooter game with asymmetric, guerilla warfare. Not only that, we also deliver with it a deep story about defending our values, defending our country, defending our society, and that is as current as it can be. ” said Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Koch Media.

Revealed today are also further details on the Expansion Pass:

The Homefront®: The Revolution Expansion Pass includes access to the three currently planned single player campaign expansions, and unlocks some exclusive bonuses for use in Homefront’s online co-operative experience known as Resistance Mode!

Coming in 2016, The Voice of Freedom and Aftermath will both add new districts and several hours of original single-player content that complement Homefront’s huge 30-hour campaign.

A much larger expansion – Beyond the Walls – will follow in 2017, with more details to follow.

Expansion Pass holders also benefit from these Resistance Mode perks:
•        ‘Supply Line’ entitles players to a FREE Resistance Crate each week, just for logging into Resistance  Mode
•        ‘The Right Kind of School’ unlocks three new starting backgrounds for your Resistance Mode character: ‘ATF Agent’, ‘G-Man’ and ‘U.S. Marshall’

In addition to the 30 hour epic single player campaign, Homefront’s co-operative experience ‘Resistance Mode’ will launch with 6 Missions, with the first set of new Missions set to arrive in June. All Resistance Mode missions will be FREE, and Dambuster Studios are committed to delivering high quality added content updates at no extra cost.

As the amount of Mission content available at launch is less than the studio had originally promised, the option to purchase Resistance Crates with real-world money has been disabled for the time being.
