With just a hair over a month away from the game’s release, DICE have seen fit to give people access to the closed beta for Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst. Within, players can try out a few of Faith’s story missions, side missions, and the asynchronous multiplayer. For those who registered for the “Frontrunner” service and have been selected, codes will be sent out on April 22nd. For everyone else, codes will be sent out on the 23rd.
As Catalyst is set in a semi-open world, DICE have put in considerable legwork to have players experience a living, breathing world. One way this is achieved by is way of the social tools, as seen in the video above. Players can set up races almost anywhere, inputting various checkpoints as they see fit. Not only that, but there is a companion app and website that allows players to place geolocation tags for others to find.
All these features and more will be available when the beta drops on April 22nd. Since the beta runs through to the 26th, that means that everyone who is not a Frontrunner will be missing out on one day of beta access. Stay tuned for more information, and more coverage as the release of Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst approaches.

Why yes. I did spend three hundred bucks on the game. Worth it!
