Since Dark Souls III came out, the area just beyond Pontiff Sullivan has been its unofficial PvP gathering spot, but FromSoftware has caught on and is bringing 3v3 PvP to the game with the Ashes of Ariandel DLC.

No new gear or lore was shown in this trailer, however it seems that players will be able to fight in a free-for-all arena somehow or choose to bring in any sort of phantoms to wage the battle with. Moundmakers, Blades of the Darkmoon, Fingers, Faithful, Watchdogs, and just plain old white and red phantoms were seen fighting, participating in a knock-down slobberknocker fight, so it seems anyone from anywhere is welcome in this palace of battle.

The one new quirk this trailer showed was mysterious hovering – crowns above some players heads. It’s unclear what their purpose is, but some people have been guessing that it’s an indicator for people who have no covenant but still want to fight.

The Ashes of Ariandel DLC releases October 25.
