Remember when you walked out to the end of Dark Souls III, looked around, and though “This place looks like the end of the world?” Well, it looks like we’re returning somewhere similar, and seeing just how many times it’ll end you.
The Ringed City, despite being the brightest and happiest place Dark Souls has ever give us, is filled with nothing but dead, ghosts, zombies, and laser-beam shooting angels. Will we finally see the return of Giant Dad? What’s waiting at the end? Nobody knows, but the Balrogs in the trailer don’t give me much hope for a happy ending.
Fittingly enough, The Ringed City’s apocalyptic landscape is also the last we’re expected to see of Miyazaki’s Dark Souls series; this is the final DLC, for the final intended entry of the Dark Souls series. It’s sad to see it go, but it looks like we’ll finally be getting answers about what the end of the age of fire looks like, and maybe even the origin of the Darksign.
Dark Souls III’s final entry, The Ringed City DLC, will release on March 28th.
