Just 3 days ago I informed our readers here about the mysterious Elusive Target coming up for Square Enix and IO-Interactive’s massively successful HITMAN episodic game. Welp, I have some good news and some bad news. I’ll start with the good news first, that special day when Agent 47 takes on his biggest challenge yet, has come at last. Today marks the beginning of the 72 hour long mysterious Elusive Target event, as usual, all you assassins out there will have just three days and only one chance to track down and eliminate the most elusive of Elusive Targets to date. What some would consider bad news would be the fact that today’s event will not be taking place on the newest released Episode 4: Bangkok level, which is set in Thailand. Instead, this event will be taking place on the very first location from Episode 1: Paris, the Palais de Walewska in France. I would consider this a part of the good news, since this place should be extremely familiar to players of HITMAN, spending countless hours fully completing each and every challenge, memorizing the routes guards take, all of the camera placements around the map and even the best places to hide if need be. So just why is this good news? Simple. Having players scouting a familiar area would help them better to spot any differences, a new face perhaps, or a stockpile of jam that wasn’t there before, which brings me to the bad news.
The last update given about today’s Elusive Target event was completely void of any useful information for players to go on and I’m afraid today is pretty much the same, with only three little exceptions. What we now know is the name of the target, whom Agent 47 is tasked with eliminating, as well as two clues, the name of his fellow hacker and partner in crime ‘White cap’ and that he really, really enjoys a particular brand of cheap Alabama jam… Yep, it seems our target, Owen ‘Protagonist” Wagner, hacker extraordinaire has a penchant for orange jam. We have the name for our target, but this time around, we’re given absolutely no identifiable photos or descriptions to go by. We have to solely go about our task with the little clues given, not only that, throwing gas on the fire is the fact that if Agent 47 is seen by any security cameras, “something bad” will happen. My guess would be an instant “failed mission” ever so sweetly scrawled across the screen, as such, players would be wise to steer clear of security.
Good luck agents, you have until Monday, August 29th 13:00 BST to find and eliminate your target. Don’t forget to check out the “briefing” video above, perhaps those internet sleuths can find some more clues buried within.
The 9th Elusive Target has just gone live, but this one is a bit different… This is the first target where you DON’T get a picture of their face, so you have to rely on finding them through other means.
Here’s a hint to help you on your way:
He likes jam a lot.
You’d also be wise to avoid the security cameras at all costs. Why? Well that would be telling.
*This Elusive Target is available for 72 hours
