Something magical just happened!
Platinum’s famous Bayonetta game has just been released on Steam. The PC version comes with the typical improvements, such as; 60fps, several graphic quality settings and different resolutions up to 4k. So even if you already played the game, this version might be worth another look.
Bayonetta is somewhat of a modern classic. It originally launched on XBox 360 and PlayStation 3 in late 2009 (a Wii U version followed in 2014) and got almost exclusively good reviews. It was also one of the first games developed by Platinum Games. It quickly became their flagship product, and they specialized in creating games with similar spectacle fighter gameplay, such as Metal Gear Rising: Revengance or the recently released NieR Automata.
While there was no Steam store page for the game before launch and no official announcement, the release was not a complete surprise. On April 1st Sega released 8-Bit Bayonetta, a free 2D version of the game. There was a hint in the achievements that lead to a website. That website showed a countdown that would end on April 11th. The URL had Bayonetta’s birthday in it.
So, it seemed like Bayonetta on PC would finally happen. The only problem – 8-Bit Bayonetta was released on April 1st! Luckily, it didn’t turn out to just be an April’s fool. The game is available at this very moment, in fact, I am already downloading it! In addition to graphical enhancements, the game also comes with a full set of Steam features; cloud saves, trading cards, achievments, leader boards and the like.
