Tokyo 42 has been released. Like a cybernetic ninja invading your dreams, this neon Tokyo vision is hard to forget. Filled with clever architecture, cats, and cunning death, you can follow the trail that lead to you falsely accused of murder, or you can rack up the body count, by embracing your new vocation as an assassin.

As well as having an open-world micro city filled with secrets to explore, Tokyo 42 also offers a multiplayer option, for when you need that fast death experience, even faster. I’m Pretty excited to play it, but I’m also pretty excited for SMAC Games, as a first release title, SMAC would have been hard pushed to make a more memorable game. Not only that, but they’ve got their timing just right too, releasing their game the same year as two major Cyberpunk blockbusters: Ghost in the Shell and Blade Runner 2049.

Tokyo 42 looks as exciting as it is unique, and I can’t wait to see what SMAC Games brings us next! So head on over to Steam and pick up Tokyo 42 for £14.99 (or your regional equivalent), or for £28.58 with the soundtrack too.

We would love any news posts, tweets, videos or contemporary dance galas dedicated to the celebration of this event – thank you! When asked to give a quote to mark the occasion, SMAC developers Sean Wright and Maciek Strychalski responded only with: “All our friends are having kids these days, so it feels good to join the club.”

We’re going to let them have a rest now, but if you would like to interview them, just let me know.

Soo 42 is not a random number here, the Japanese consider 4 to be unlucky because it sounds like death in Japanese, but when written as 42 it sounds like "Death You".

So the title Tokyo 42, sounds like "Tokyo Kills You". Good title.
