The Unofficial JC3 Multiplayer Mode Goes Live!

It’s here, it’s out, it’s finished! Well, alright it’s not finished, yet, but we can enjoy it now and it’s also available on Steam. Nanos, the guys behind the infamous GTA V alternative online mod that was stopped by Take Two a few years back, got together with Square Enix and Avalanche to implement their crazy idea of a multiplayer into Just Cause 3.

It took them quite a few months to get this modification where it is now, and Nanos aren’t done yet. Features like achievements, synced tethering and being able to change your player-skin are planed for version 1.1. However, NPC’s are missing from the world and I’m a bit skeptical that we’ll ever see them in this multiplayer-mod. The empty world of the Just Cause 2 MP mod back in the day was one of the biggest gripes players had with the modification. But it’s understandable that some things might just not work out in a shoehorned multiplayer mod like this.

That said, you’re able to script your own game-modes and UI’s for your own dedicated server. Mmh… dedicated servers, delicious, something I haven’t heard in quite a while, right… Destiny 2? By the way, have I mention that the JC3 multiplayer-mod is absolutely free? Gotta give it to Nanos for their upstanding work and dedication, kudos!

Official Press Release

Just Cause 3 Multiplayer Mode Mod Now Available!

Today marks a momentous occasion for Just Cause 3 – the hardworking community mod team over at Nanos are finally ready to unleash their unofficial JC3 Multiplayer Mod on PC.

Working independently from Square Enix, Nanos are a small team of programmers who have dedicated their spare time to developing a brand new Nanos Multiplayer Framework. Just Cause 3 proved to be the perfect game to test this platform and after a successful trial period, the Nanos team are ready to release their JC3 Multiplayer Mod on Steam.

Still in its early form, the JC3 Multiplayer Mod provides players access to different servers, each with unique characteristics. Offering a dedicated space for fans to enjoy modes such as Team Death Match, Free Roam, Custom Races, and more!

Aside from enjoying the numerous modes that already exist, those proficient with javascript, html, css etc. can also alter the game’s parameters to create their very own modes. This can build anything they like, from simple vehicle enhancements, to more spectacular creations that can alter the JC3 world entirely.

The mod is now available for free to everyone who already owns Just Cause 3 on PC. For further information and to downloaded the JC3 Multiplayer Mod, head to the steam page now. For those that do not already own Just Cause 3, the game is available to purchase here via Steam.
