The Division Update 1.2 Conflict Detailed

The first details for The Division‘s upcoming 1.2 update are here at last. Hitting PC, PS4 and Xbox One on May 24, bringing with it numerous changes and additional content, like several high-end weapons, four new gear sets and doubling the Phoenix Credit cap. The newest Incursion (Clear Sky) pits players against Rikers to reclaim an abandoned LMB anti-air missile site at Columbus Circle. Another new addition is the daily/weekly Search and Destroy missions, agents must track down groups of enemies to gather intel on faction leaders, players will only have one shot to quickly track down and eliminate these high-value targets (HVT) for rewards.

Fear not Rogues! The Dark Zone is also getting a much needed update, one of which being a new high-level Dark Zone bracket for high geared agents as well as Sealed Caches. These mystery drops are only found by eliminating named enemies and must be extracted. Agents can no longer extract and frantically scurry off into the shadows without running the risk of sneaky agents cutting the rope and hijacking their hard earned loot, instantly triggering Rogue status and further bringing more tension to an already tense situation.

As a player with over 300 hours logged, I for one am excited for these new additions. I can only hope these new changes can bring this game back to life and rejuvenate the existing player base. Maybe even bring a surge of new players with it. For more in depth details and a better idea of what’s to come, check out the trailer and read the article on Ubi blog as well as check out the Conflict Q&A.

Well, this IS end game content. There is nothing else there...
But yes, opting out of PvP would add a bit more gametime for me. For now though I cant be bothered playing it.

I 100% agree with you, as fun as DZ can be (when I'm rollin with 3 mates) it shouldn't be the "end game" there should be lots of non DZ things to do, missions, challenges etc. They really do need to add new missions regularly instead of bi-monthly, heck even if they make some sort of "make your own mission" or a random generated mission to mix things up, at the VERY LEAST, make DZ an option for PVP and PVE, like most MMO's do, giving the players an option to opt out of the PVP and enjoy things if that's what they want to do, ramp up the AI difficulty when they go PVE, I'd be down for that.

They seem to be pushing the game towards PvP more and more which would kill it for me. I have no intention of going against people who sunk in hundreds of hours to surely get my as kicked. But we'll see, maybe the new mission is really good...
Also in order to properly sustain this game Ubi needs to release a mission every few weeks not every few months.

This update will be what either makes people happy to continue playing or to completely abandon it altogether. It really could go any way, especially judging by the disasterous previous updates and the drama that ensued, I hope they don't repeat the past and make the game fun to play again. We'll find out soon enough...
