Codemasters just released a new trailer showcasing the F1 2017 Career Mode features they’ve added, and man, they weren’t sleeping over the last year. New test programmes, game modes like time attack, overtake challenges, checkpoint modes, classic car challenges and more. They even added vehicle management to the career… finally!

It felt strange driving a McLaren Honda without it ever breaking down. Something even they noticed, hence them showing the McLaren Honda with mechanical problems. Can’t wait to manage the power train allocations during the season, making sure not to overdrive certain parts of the drive train. It really makes me happy to see this kind of manager approach to the F1 2017 game.

Codemasters also massively expanded the upgrades, where you only had 5 different steps for 5 different areas of the car before, we now get a proper upgrade tree with well over 100 upgrades. We also get to see some alternative layouts for the classic car challenges, which are also part of the career. Monaco at night for instance, let that sink in… Monaco… at… night! This might just be the best F1 game ever made since… forever?

A proper career, beautiful fast cars, classic events and reliability management. I wonder how they could possibly top this the for next installment. Well, they could probably add a “Removed Halo” option to the game. Please, Codemasters? That should be first on the list for F1 2018.

F1 2017, THE MOST COMPLETE FORMULA ONE GAME EVER

NEW GAMEPLAY TRAILER SHOWCASES EXPANDED CAREER COMPLETE WITH CLASSIC CARS, NEW CIRCUIT LAYOUTS AND MORE

//Thursday 3rd AUGUST 2017 (2pm UK – BST)// – Codemasters and Koch Media have today released the latest gameplay trailer for F1 2017, the official videogame of the 2017 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, showcasing the extensive Career Mode that makes it the most complete game in the franchise’s history.

F1 2017 has a massively expanded Career Mode that introduces invitational events at key points during the regular F1 season, where you will get to drive 12* classic F1 cars in a host of different events including overtake challenges, pursuit events, checkpoint, and time attack challenges. The classic cars are also playable in all other areas of the game, and can be raced as both single and multi-class races.

In addition to the invitational events, the Career Mode offers a huge amount of extra depth with 115 possible Research and Development upgrades (over 4 ½ times as many as in F1 2016), new practice programmes to master, as well as increased importance being given to the management and reliability of your car’s engine and gearbox elements.

As well as the 20 official circuits from the current season, F1 2017 introduces four new shortened circuits at Britain, Bahrain, USA and Japan, while also allowing players to take on the iconic Monaco street circuit at night, complete with stunning visuals.

Lee Mather, Creative Director, says: “The Career Mode was a big hit last year and we are building on those incredibly strong foundations to create an even deeper, more rounded experience for F1 2017. We have added female driver avatars, new paddock locations and a new character as well as greatly increasing the scope for developing your team and car. All of this, we feel, combined with the addition of the iconic classic cars this year, means that F1 2017 offers gamers the ultimate F1 experience yet.
