Team Jolly Roger has announced that they are bringing in today the enhancements to their planetary bombardment game Interplanetary, which is a turn-based strategy artillery game where you build up power plants and then heavy weapons and launch massive attacks on your enemies, using gravity wells to assist or hinder progress.

There are single-player and multiplayer modes, so you can even engage your friend’s planets (if you still have some afterwards) or play in hot-seat mode at a LAN party. With the inclusion of super-weapons, I wonder if a massive shark with a freaking laser on it’s head, or a massive maid with a vacuum cleaner will appear in game this time around.

The Enhanced Edition includes, but not limited to:

• Improved visuals and sounds
• Ability to add AI opponents to online matches (something that a lot of people have wanted for a while)
• New game balance, plus a classic mode for existing players.
• New buildings and weapons, including super-weapons
• Quick targeting mode
• New intel mechanics making it more compelling and easier to learn
• Enhanced multiplayer with improved functionality

So, from 5pm BST (4pm UTC, 12pm EDT) you can download the Enhanced Edition if you already own Interplanetary as existing owners get the upgrade for free, or you can just buy it for £10.99. Please note that this is a game, it is not to be used as a replacement to actual orbital bombardment of planets of breakaway colonies, this has happened before with Eminiar VII and is not to be repeated.
