The latest Nier: Automata trailer shows quite a bit, yet tells absolutely nothing. The cunning madness of Yoko Taro and PlatinumGames is nearly upon us for our PlayStation 4 owning brethren, but in the meantime, trailers, interviews and extended gameplay demos have been cropping up all over, showing the sheer insanity that is Nier.
Nier: Automata relates the struggle of humanity versus machine-kind in the year 11945, during the 14th Machine War, after humanity has been evicted from Earth and relegated to the Moon. You play as androids facing off against the machine overlords, though precisely for what, it’s hard to tell. Survival? Humanity?
The trailer gives differing opinions on this fact, regardless, Nier: Automata releases on PlayStation 4 on February 23rd in Japan, March 6th here in the U.S. and March 10th in the PAL region. A PC date is scheduled to follow, though when that will be it’s hard to say.
