In a case of “out of the left field” to a lot of people, a fan made game called Star Wars: Galaxy in Turmoil which is based off what the original Battlefront 3 was going to be is coming to Steam. Frontwire, the developers of the game have announced that they have secured release on Steam for free. This means that we all will get to play the game and hopefully see much of what we enjoyed from the original LucasArts versions of Battlefront at no cost.
However this release seems to have been done without Disney in the loop. Even Tony Romanelli the CEO is concerned about Disney’s lawyers sending a Cease & Desist for the game causing it to be taken down. However Valve has still given the go-ahead for it to be released as a Free-to-Play, which also raises some concerns about how the company will survive.
When it goes live a large section of the staff at Pixel Judge will end up spending some time on it reliving what we enjoyed about Battlefront 2, just let’s hope this time the Y-Wing’s are a little bit more controllable with a HOTAS setup.
