From new developers Act 3 Games LLC, comes their first take on the thrilling story-driven first-person narrative genre with The Fidelio Incident.

The 2014 founded indie studio has ambitious goals of creating high quality narrative driven games that build upon real life events throughout history. With the launching of The Fidelio Incident, we get our first glance at what the Art Director behind the massively popular God of War 3 game can bring to the table, as well as being collaborated and advised by various other ex God of War team members. That’s gotta account for something right…right?

After a violent plane crash off the coast of Iceland, a husband frantically scours the frozen wastes for any signs of his missing wife, all while trying to stay alive in the bitter cold, fraught with danger at every corner. Heavily inspired by Ludwig von Beethoven’s one and only opera, Fidelio, re-imagined to fit modern times, with influences from  such great titles as Dear Esther, Firewatch and hit series Homeland, and The Americans.

From what we can see from the 2 minute launch trailer above, the game’s sports an amazing score composed by Michael Krikorian, combined with solid voice acting from Glenn Koegh and Bess Harrison. Running on the amazing Unreal Engine 4, its would be an understatement to say that The Fidelio Incident is anything but purdy lookin’ and that the dark tones perfectly give us the emotional depth that will stay with us long after we’re done playing.

I for one am excited to get my greasy mitts on The Fidelio Incident, which launched with an overall 90% positive rating (at the time of writing) via Steam yesterday. Currently offering a special promotion of 34% off the sale price, you would be pretty daft not to jump at this deal, but do hurry, offer ends May 30th!

Official Press Release

From the Art Director of God of War 3: The Fidelio Incident is available now on Steam

Los Angeles, May 24, 2017 – The mission of new developer Act 3 Games is to create high-quality, provocative story-driven games based upon real events in our history. Act 3 Games is proud to announce and release its first game “The Fidelio Incident“, a first-person narrative thriller, available now on Steam.

…Suddenly, the plane goes down, slamming into the top of the mountain, ripping in half, leaving Stanley and Leonore separated. As Stanley wakes from the crash, his cell phone rings; it is Leonore in desperate, critical condition. While Stanley frantically searches for Leonore, he must cover up any traces of their identity. Rescue help is on the way, the past must remain hidden. They can’t find out who we are!

“For The Fidelio Incident, inspirations include Dear Esther, Gone Home, and Firewatch as well as character dramas like Homeland, Lost, and The Americans. The game was also inspired by Beethoven’s only opera, Fidelio,” said Ken Feldman, Creative Director, Act 3 Games. “We used the opera’s premise as inspiration for the backstory, and then re-imagined it for a modern setting.”

He continued, “We’ve been working on The Fidelio Incident for 3 years, and we wanted to release it out of nowhere to capture the emotional feeling when you’ve just seen a Netflix show or played something you immediately have to talk about. The Fidelio Incident is a provocative thriller that will hook you from the start.”

Act 3 Games is a new independent video game studio in Los Angeles, CA. The company was founded by God of War 3 Art Director Ken Feldman in 2014. The Fidelio Incident was created and advised by many ex-members of the God of War franchise.
