It’s been a while since we heard anything out of Nu-earth, developers Rebellion have been rather quiet about Rogue Trooper Redux. Today however we’re treated to a whole new trailer for the game with two minutes of footage highlighting the changes to the remake.
It’s not just a prettifying (yes, that’s a real word) of models and textures. The remake will also include new gamepad controls and a new cover system. There’s also new difficulty modes including “easy” and “legend” for an easier or more difficult challenge respectively. Achievements will also be included. These updates are ostensibly to bring the game up to date for more modern audiences.
For those not in the know, Rogue Trooper is based off a comic published by 2000AD and is the tale of genetically enhanced soldiers who battle against Norts for the future of Nu-earth. As your companions fall in battle their consciousness’ can be recovered via a chip and stored in your gear to give it a personality, most famously via Gunnar the gun. If you’ve never played it, this might just be the opportunity you’re looking for to give this excellent game a go.
Rogue Trooper Redux is launching 17 October 2017 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It’ll cost £19.99.
