Prepare for a Blast From the Past With Beat Cop

Do you long for the high stakes, high hair and fabulous white blazers of 1980’s police shows like Miami Vice? Well, Beat Cops got you covered right down to its retro pixel art aesthetic. Check out the gameplay trailer above.

Players find themselves in the wrongly accused shoes of former Detective Jack Kelly, wrongly fingered for a murder, kicked out of the force and left with no other choice but to become a regular Beat Cop once more. Kelly is determined to discover who framed him and it’s up to you to help him uncover the case and maybe even kick some arse on the way to closing the case.

The thing is, everything’s on a timer and you can’t be in two places at once; you’ll find yourself often having to decide between what is right and what may be far more expedient. Oh yeah, and since this game is a straight up homage to police procedural of old, you’ll have to do all of this whilst trying not to meet your untimely end in a drive-by shooting. You shouldn’t be disheartened though, as this is just one of a number of ways the game could end.

You can take to the streets on PC, Mac and Linux from March 30th. Beat Cop will be available on Steam, the Humble Storeand Good Old Games. Check out the store pages and watch this space for more on Beat Cop as its release date approaches.
