The third-person MOBA/shooter hybrid coming from Epic Games has seen quite a bit of changes since its early alpha days, and with update 35, entitled “Monolith,” it looks to enter a new state of equilibrium and appeal.

Boasting the rebalancing of every hero in the game, their abilities and base values, the Monolith update also sees a change coming to the “card” system, which allows players to build a “deck” of items they bring in to battle beforehand. Not only that, one of the major stated reasons behind the Monolith changes was to make Paragon faster, and that includes making the map itself smaller, along with adding various movement penalties and buffs.

There are far too many changes to list here, but the Paragon official website does have the rundown of all the changes. Though the “hero shooter” genre is still in a budding phase, it would seem that Epic are taking steps to ensure the longevity of their product for years to come.
