Huey Games Debuts its First Next Gen Game Where Your Character is a Mechanical Cog!

Day of the Devs Summer Game Showcase (20th July) unveiled Huey Games’ first foray into the next generation of gaming with the debut of Mechinus.

Mechinus invites players into a mechanical world where they will take control of Cognito, a curious creature whose duty is to maintain the lifecycle of its mechanical world, leading him on a journey to the heart of the machine.

Curated by the Day of the Devs team and Geoff Keighley (The Game Awards), the July developer showcase had a line-up which included: An Airport for Aliens Currently Run by Dogs (Strange Scaffold), Dreamscaper (Afterburner Studios/Maple Whispering Limited), Figment: Creed Valley (Bedtime Digital Games), Ghostrunner (One More Level/505 Games), Griefhelm (Johnny Dale Lonack/Thorrnet Publishing), I Am Dead (Hollow Ponds and Richard Hogg/Annapurna Interactive), Mechinus (Huey Games), Tunche (LEAP Games Studios/HypeTrain Digital), Unto The End (2 Ton Studios/Big Sugar) and Voidtrain (Nearga/HypeTrain Digital).

Game Description

In Mechinus, you embark on a clockwork world set in a mechanical ecosystem.

You play as Cognito, a curious creature whose duty to maintain the lifecycle of this captivating world leads him on a journey to the heart of the machine to save it.

In this metallic jungle where life is mechanical instead of biological, evolution has given rise to a beautifully orchestrated set of behaviours which underpin the tactile clockwork puzzles and dynamic platforming of the game.

The distinct character deign of Cognito creates the opportunity for expressive emotional responses to the events unfolding around him. In turn, this acts as prompts to the player, building a strong connection between player and avatar which enriches the sense of immersion in this fantastical world.

As you roll through the apparatus of each region, you will unlock compelling characters with new abilities whilst turning the gears of a beautifully crafted narrative revolving around interconnection and symbiosis between life forms, the environment and the flow of resources which feed them.
