It’s Time For RiME!

This, dear readers, is the trailer that finally made me understand the hype around RiME; it feels very much like a Legend of Zelda game made by Team Ico and Studio Ghibli, and that dear readers, ticks all of my boxes. Check out the reveal trailer above to see what I’m talking about.

RiME, as you might’ve guessed, is a puzzle adventure game centering around the adventures of a shipwrecked young boy. The island, the ocean’s waves carry him to is ethereal and largely relies on the ephemeral to solve its secrets; the press release explains, “players must navigate the island’s secrets by making use of light, sound, perspective and even time.” Sign me up for a one way ticket, I say!

The game will launch on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One May 26th. It will also be available for Nintendo Switch later this Summer. Interestingly, the three aforementioned platform versions will retail at the price of £29.99 but on the Nintendo Switch it’ll set you back by about 10 more quid of our finest monopoly money.

HOUSTON and MADRID – March 8, 2017 – Grey Box, Six Foot and independent developer Tequila Works have announced that RiME, the highly anticipated puzzle adventure game, has a confirmed release date of May 26 for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, and Windows PC. It will arrive at both retail and digital store shelves with a suggested retail price of $29.99 / €34.99 / £29.99.

Shortly afterward, RiME will launch on Nintendo Switch™, allowing players to take the adventure with them anywhere on the go utilizing the system’s portability, as a physical and digital release with a suggested retail price of $39.99 / €44.99 / £39.99.

RiME is a single-player puzzle adventure game about discovery, experienced through the eyes of a young boy who awakens on a mysterious island after shipwrecking off its coast. Players must navigate the island’s secrets by making use of light, sound, perspective and even time. Inspired by the rugged, sunbaked terrain of the Mediterranean coast, RiME paints its breathtaking world with a fusion of vibrant colors and moving musical undertones to set the stage for the deeply personal journey that awaits within.
