Gigantic, a Free-to-Play, MOBA-esque strategic shooter, has now been launched on Steam. Sporting a bright, colourful and caricatured art style, it’s a lot like an early 90s stylized cartoon come to life. Featuring 19 different characters, with several more already in the works, one to be added each month post launch with no set end date in sight. There are some real money packs you can also purchase to get you some extra goodies, such as unique skins, as well as immediate access to all current and upcoming hero characters until the end of time.

An interesting thing is that Perfect World have partnered with to run a Top 5 Plays contest, starting today. Any and every player can participate, with rewards including Steam gift cards and full on pieces of gaming hardware. That’s nothing to scoff at, and it’s actually nice to see someone not licking Twitch’s bunghole for a change. may not be the biggest name in video games, uhm, videoness? It’s a neat tool that people would benefit from checking out.

Gigantic is now available for the low, low price of naff all, and looks set to become quite the niche little game in short order. Perhaps not in any hurry to knock the big names off the top, but it’s going to find it’s player-base I’m sure.
