Kukouri, the developers behind Tiny Trooper and select mobile games has announced that their mobile game Pixel Worlds has come to Steam. Having over a million downloads on mobile, we see Pixel Worlds now coming to Steam for Mac and PC, with full cross-platform multiplayer and even more fun, as it’s all player driven, from basic exploration to massive mazes.
Aside from creating worlds for people, you can also become a farmer, planting seeds and growing about 1,000 items as of now, with more being added each week, ranging from water squares to new clothing and even furniture for player homes. And with keeping a Sandbox world, nothing is done by NPC’s themselves, it’s all player driven, right down to the cost of things, be it a simple chat or even marketplaces that have been built up by the community (I wonder how long until that world descends into Jita from EvE Online).
Everything is free, exploring other worlds, creating platformer levels, a rave hall for your friends and don’t forget to participate in live events started by the developers to win some in-game goodies. However, Kukouri isn’t content with just making the game, they even play it themselves and are massively on social media too, if you do a good job, then you may end up with your world featured on the weekly streams. So, if you want to have some fun, head on over to Pixel Worlds now, just don’t get lost in all those pixels though, we just don’t have the manpower to send out a rescue mission.
Social Sandbox MMO Pixel Worlds Available Now on Steam
Join a Highly Social Community and Handcraft Your Own Sandbox Worlds
Kotka, Finland – June 9, 2017 – Finnish developer Kukouri, the creative force behind the Tiny Trooper franchise, today announced that Pixel Worlds, the highly social sandbox online multiplayer game with charming 2D pixel art graphics, is now available on Steam for PC and Mac. Featuring cross-platform play across PC, Mac and mobile, Pixel Worlds gives players a platform and creative freedom to build and shape new worlds as well as share their creations, trade items and chat with other players building a strong sense of community.
“With over a million players on mobile, we are excited to launch Pixel Worlds on Steam with a cross-platform play feature so that new and old players can enjoy the game on a broader selection of devices”, said Kim Soares, CEO of Kukouri. “We strongly believe that active community is the key to the whole multiplayer experience, which can be achieved by engaging players through both in-game activities as well as strong social media integration.”
In Pixel Worlds players join the ever expanding pixel universe by creating their own worlds using hundreds of different building blocks and materials. By planting seeds in various combinations, players can grow close to a 1000 items ranging from furniture to clothing items, with more added in updates every few weeks. The game economy is run by the players themselves, meaning there are no fixed prices nor limits and trading is done while bartering through the in-game chat system in player-designed marketplaces. Players are free to explore other worlds, create platformer levels for others to play and participate in Live Events in order to win some in-game goodies.
Going all out with social media integration into the game experience, Kukouri fosters Pixel Worlds’ community by not only playing the game daily themselves and interacting with players, but also by arranging weekly streams on Youtube, Twitch and Mobcrush, as well as promoting user and influencer videos in-game as a part of their Influencer Program. Pixel Worlds has it’s own Youtube channel with over a million views and the game’s official Instagram account has been growing 20% weekly compared to the average growth rate of 6-8%.
