It’s getting near that time of year again folks, when the gamers of the world sit on the edge of their computer chairs, ready to defend or condemn the newest entry in the Call of Duty franchise. This year, Sledgehammer Games are taking COD back to its roots, the greatest war mankind has ever seen, the Second World War. It’s been 9 years since a COD game has gone against the Nazi’s. I remember the first Call of Duty game I ever played was Call of Duty 2. I vividly remember how intense and epic it was to land on the shores of Normandy in a Higgins Boat and scale the cliff facing on the D-Day mission. It’s funny that my COD gaming experience is about to come full circle. I can’t decide if I should feel nostalgic or concerned, since this will be the second time that COD has tackled D-Day.

A new trailer has dropped that gives us some insight into the single-player campaign that WWII has in store for us. Instead of focusing on multiple characters, the story follows Private Ronald “Red” Daniels, a new recruit in the U.S. First Infantry. Daniels will get to experience D-Day, one of the largest amphibious assaults in the history of warfare. Daniels will then be thrust into other iconic WW2 battles such as The Battle of the Bulge and Hürtgen Forest. You will be to return to the front lines on November 3rd.
