A multiplayer space survival sim set among the ruins of a failed human colony; nothing bad could possibly happen here, right?

This setting is precisely where Zero Gravity Games places you in Hellion, the first title from the independent games studio based in Belgrade, Serbia. Players will need to scavenge floating stations and asteroids for usable resources if they wish to survive in the harsh vastness of space.

Players can pilot their own ships, and even salvage said stations in an attempt to maintain some sort of semi-permanent home. Be warned though, critical systems have many moving parts, and orbital dynamics may not be so easy to parse out. Hellion is looking to come to Steam Early Access this January, 2017.

Zero Gravity Release Survival Trailer for Hellion – the First-Person Space Survival Sandbox Game

Independent developer Zero Gravity, has released a new trailer showcasing the world, survival mechanics and multiplayer component of its first-person space survival multiplayer sandbox game Hellion. Scheduled to breach Steam Early Access in January 2017, the new video showcases its immersive storyline, engaging gameplay mechanic and intense multiplayer action, where everyone from lone wolves, co-op players and deadly villains need to find a way to survive in the hostile universe.

The teaser trailer reveals the ruthless reality of Hellion, a solar system thousands of lightyears from Earth and the destination of the first interstellar colonization mission of the 23rd century. A million colonists, suspended in cryogenic hibernation, wake up a century later and find themselves trapped in a nightmare. Instead of grand habitats and planets waiting to receive new settlers, there is only evidence of devastation and conflict everywhere with ruins, debris fields and empty stations. With no trace of UN officials, corporate representatives, engineers, scientists or law enforcement troops, and a rescue operation over half a century away, colonists turn to scavenging, stealing and outright violence. Others try to live in a more civilized way and begin uncovering the truth behind the largest disaster in human history.

The only places still working as intended are small outposts and shuttle crafts that the colonists wake up in. All systems show signs of extensive wear and without immediate repair will soon run out of air, fuel and power. To survive, colonists will need to obtain tools and resources elsewhere.
