Captains of the Wacky Waters – Announcement

Posted on 21 Apr 2021

Spanish three person indie studio Ceiling Games have revealed Captains of the Wacky Waters, a boat-based roguelike where you have to get your crew of cute little ghosts to heaven alive. No, it doesn’t make sense but neither does the rest of the Katamari-esque silliness in the above trailer. Captains of the Wacky Waters is aiming to release on Steam in the first half of 2022.

Official Press Release

We are Sandra, Guillermo and Fran (Ceiling Games), the developers of Captains of the Wacky Waters, a fast-paced boat roguelike where ships drift and krakens have moustaches.

We have released our first trailer along with the Steam page:

Trailer: https://youtu.be/MeLOOJaQju4

Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1571130/

In the game, your goal is to reach Heaven alive so that your crew, consisting of cute little ghosts, can finally rest in peace. To do so, you’ll have to fight other captains, find more crew members and upgrade your ship with new cannons and crazy gadgets to help you get through the different zones, each one stranger than the next.

Warning: may contain traces of philosophy, religion and anti-capitalism.

At the moment, the only confirmed platform is Steam and we are targeting the first half of 2022 for release.

As for us, we are a team of three people from Madrid (Spain). We started development after finishing college and our goal with the project is to be able to dedicate ourselves to this professionally and independently, thus avoiding ending up in one of those evil companies that we hear so much about.
