BSG Deadlock: The Cylons are Rebelling from the 31st August

The unthinkable has happened, Man’s creation the Cylons, made in his own image, have rebelled. The entire human race is in jeopardy, and we must unit as one species as one race, for the survival of us all.

BSG Deadlock puts you in command of the human fleet during the first cylon war. Can you defend the twelve colonies of man? Can you outthink, outmaneuver and outfight the machines can you secure the future of the human race?

Games based on the Battlestar Galactica franchise have been remarkably rare, nevertheless it’s surprising that no official strategy games have been made for BSG in the eight years since release, particularly when fan made BSG strategy games such as Beyond the Red Line have been incredibly popular.

With games like Fractured Space, and Dreadnaught hogging the limelight as far as big ship combat is concerned, BSG Deadlock is set to take a different path. Not only is Deadlock the first official BSG Strategy game to be made, it is also a turn based strategy too; something many bug developers seem to shy away from, despite the success of games like Xcom2.

Needless to say, I’m a huge fan turn based strategy, and a huge fan of big ship combat too (who isn’t?) so I’m very excited to see what Black Lab Games have in store for us for the 31st August. No, this is the first Cylon war. These events take place around forty years before before "The Fall" - the events seen in the BSG series.

The BSG film Blood and Chrome, is also set during the First Cylon war, and follows the exploits of a young fighter pilot called Adama.

Aaah, a 1970's BSG purist. Rocket bikes and super kids, I miss the cheese too. Instead, it's been replaced with Prima Dona's and Schizophrenic androids. But both the 1970's and the 2004 versions have 1st class acting and 1st class action, and they also both had Richard Hatch acting in them.

Go back and watch it again. That cheese everyone remembers so fondly is in very short supply. Even from Galactica 1980
