Battlezone Combat Commander Release Date and Beta

Big Boat Interactive and Rebellion’s Battlezone 2 remaster is finally set for release on PC – it’ll be launching on Steam and GOG, 1 March 2018. Additionally there’s the graphics comparison trailer above showing off what updated art and effects, DirectX 11 rendering and shading, 4k resolution support, and retextured and upscaled terrain will get you. The remaster will have cross-play multiplayer between the Steam and GOG versions, support for online and LAN play, achievements, cloud saves (on Steam), and support for the existing modding scene for the original game.

BATTLEZONE®: COMBAT COMMANDER brings its inimitable fusion of shooter and strategy action to PC in a month’s time. The remaster of Battlezone® 2 will launch on Steam and on March 1st 2018, Rebellion® announced today.

Today’s “Graphics Comparison” trailer showcases the impressive visual enhancements coming to BATTLEZONE®: COMBAT COMMANDER, including updated art and effects, DirectX 11 rendering and shading, 4K resolution support, and retextured and upscaled terrain. Big Boat Interactive’s remaster will also offer cross-play online multiplayer across Steam and GOG, support for both online and LAN multiplayer, achievements, cloud saves*, support for the game’s two-decade old modding scene, and many other refinements and tweaks.
