Are You Out Of Ammo?

Out Of Ammo, an interesting name for an interesting game. Dean Hall, formerly of Bohemia Interactive, founder of RocketWerkz, and creator of DayZ has brought us this interesting take on military gameplay. Much like ArmA 3 (by Bohemia Interactive) and it’s Zeus gameplay mode, Out Of Ammo will play as both an FPS and RTS at the same time. With the press of a button, you change from being just one more soldier to an eye in the sky, capable of calling in a variety of supports and airstrikes along with being able to direct fellow comrades in order to strategize and capitalize on opportunities. Graphically, it will resemble a very voxel based world similar to Minecraft, but with more depth and animation. The maps themselves so far seem to emulate the ArmA 2/3 maps that Dean is surely very familiar with.

As a Vive owner, I’m interested in this game, but knowing Mr. Hall may not stay for launch day and move on to a new project:

“I am a grenade, I have a specific use. I’m really good at risk-taking and making other people take risks, I’ve always been good at that in my life. I can talk, I can explain something. I can talk people up the ledge and get the m to jump off it. That’s what I did with DayZ; I’ve done it twice now [once with the mod and again with standalone] – two new code teams have separately done it. But eventually, that’s a bad person to have, Eventually, you don’t want the guy telling you to go over the top and get through. So at some point I’ll be a disaster for the project, at least in a leadership role.” – Dean Hall on leaving Bohemia, Eurogamer.
