Antihero is a digital board game that invites players into its shadowy, Victorian underworld to participate in a crime war where the ultimate goal is to take over more territory than the other guy. Take a look at the pre-order trailer above and maybe think about joining the dark side.

The full game will include a variety of modes in which you can journey to the top. You can play solo in a single player campaign mode, a versus AI mode, a Casual Match multiplayer mode where you can play at your own pace, and a Live Match multiplayer mode where all turns are timed. In all modes, you’ll be using lanterns to upgrade your very particular set of skills and you’ll be relying on coin to hire an unsavory repertoire of characters to carry out dirty work for you.

The game is set to have its PC launch on July 12th with a launch on smart devices expected some time afterwards. If you pre-order the game right now, not only will you get 20 % off the suggested retail price (which, at the time of writing, was £10.99), you’ll also receive “The Book Club” Master Thief Character Pack. This skin pack contains a variety of options based on well-known literary characters such as Alice (back from Wonderland with her grubby hands), Ebeneezer Scrooge (who has apparently learnt nothing from the Christmas Ghosts), Sherlock Holmes (possibly going undercover) and Tiny Tim (don’t let his diminutive stature fool you).
