Rogue Trooper to Be Redux

Yet another pre-2010 game gets remastered, this time it’s the 2000AD’s Rogue Trooper game, and it’s by Rebellion.

Starting off as a comic book by 2000AD in 1981, the series has continued to this day, and had created a PC game back in ’06, as well as a board game in 1987 by Games Workshop (yes, the guys who sell over-priced models). Rogue is a Genetic Infantryman, a bio-engineered soldier designed and grown by the Southers to fight a war on Nu-Earth (different planet than our own) and can survive almost anything the planet throws at him.

Being the last surviving GI from a massacre caused by the “Traitor General” he takes the bio-chips from his closest comrades and uses them to advance his own equipment and himself, going from a near super-solider to being a one-man Death Squad. Forsaking his ties with the Souther’s, Rogue heads out to do one mission, and one mission only; Revenge, by killing the Traitor General.

Redux has been completely remade, while it may not be exactly the same map layouts as previously, this is the best we have seen Rogue in any digital media, so keep an eye on the official website for future updates. However, if you want to read the entire history of Rogue, head on over to IDW and buy the anthologies, or for the first chapter, the BBC has an old page where it can be found.
