The game that set out to reboot the classic RTS, gets a reboot. The Reboot edition of Act of Aggression is now available for owners of the game. The original version is still available to players too, simply select which version you want to use from within the game and enjoy.

The Reboot Edition makes some drastic changes to gameplay and is more than just a re-balance, some of the changes are:

  • Single-resource economy
  • Playable builders
  • Reworked planes’ mechanics
  • Improved unit reactivity
  • and more

Reducing resources alone, is a radical change to the game when you consider all the late game units that have less restrictions on them, however balancing complicated systems has never been a problem with AoA. Over complication was more its issue, and it looks like this is exactly what the devs are attempting to address.

Even though the campaign is unavailable in the Reboot, focusing on skirmish and multiplayer, this is a great bonus for all AoA owners. If this new edition proves popular, then Eugene Systems may finally accomplish what they originally set out to do – make the C&C style of RTS popular once again.
