Ubisoft’s latest trailer for Ghost Recon: Wildlands sets about giving a little more background to the game’s version of Bolivia. In their world, the entire country has become a “narco state,” literally managed and controlled by a massive drug cartel. The Santa Bianca, the big bad that the titular Ghosts have been sent in to deal with. But, of course, they are not really there, they are Ghosts after all.
With the Open Beta coming up this weekend, and the full release due in just over two weeks however, the No Heroes website allows you to jump in early and actually scope out the situation. Boasting 50 cameras, and check out, pretty much, the entire in game map, one of the largest Ubisoft have ever made. Checking where enemy encampments, collectibles, all that good stuff is at. Almost like…like a real insurgency team. How much impact this will have on the final game is unclear. But according to the above trailer, progressing will unlock an “in game customisation.”
So, sod it, better than nothing. And it might be a gimmick, but it’s a fun one at least.
