The Armée de l’air or French Air Force has hit War Thunder today, and comes with some of the strangest designs seen in the game so far. Before I go in, I mention that the War Thunder 5th anniversary is live, and some great items including a challenge to get some vehicles, also certain packs are on sale.

As with the big patches that add in a new country, there are also a lot of smaller items, but the big ones are the new aircraft, starting with the Dewoitine D.371 and going through the VG.33C-1 and ending with the Dassault Mystère. Even some of the strange pre-WWI French bombers are in, such as the Farman F.222.2 and the more modern SO.4050 Vautour with the most impressive loadout options so far.

There are a few tanks, the Italians get 2; the Carro Armato P 40 and a version of the M26 Pershing, Germany gets the Begleitpanzer 57.

Now, there are a tonne of smaller fixes and even the ability to create your own tank sights, honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t the German tank sights already on the War Thunder Live page.

Also, the title of this post, it was the phrase adopted by the French after their defense of Verdun during WWI, it means “They shall not pass” and an extra bit of history, today 1st of November in 1911, Second Lieutenant Giulio Gavotti of Italy drops several small bombs, thus becoming the first airman to do an aerial bombing mission.
