Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide is a pretty hard game already but if you are one of those freaks, or cheaters, or guys who work at Fatshark, who find it too easy then those same guys at Fatshark have your back. The developer announced a new challenge mode for the game called Death Wish where, as the developers said themselves “we took everything we had and then doubled it…and then tripled it”.

So here you go, no more lonely Stormvermin patrols, now they will roam in battalions. Gutter Runner? No, Gutter Runner company! Ratling Gunners will come in platoons while Rat Ogres will hop along in mare squads.

Official Press Release

Stockholm, Sweden – April 1, 2016. Fatshark are proud to announce a new and insanely challenging difficulty mode Death Wish for Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide.

“For a long time we’ve been worried that Vermintide might be too easy”, says Martin Wahlund, CEO of Fatshark, “and based off the signals we’ve received from the community this seems to be the case. We’ve therefore been hard at work designing a difficulty mode more challenging than anything you’ve ever played before.”

In the Death Wish difficulty, everything has doubled – nay, tripled. The Skaven have reinforced their army and are out for blood and vengeance. Gone are the days of Victory Screens and Loot Rewards. Brace yourselves for a wall of Ratling Gunners, a pack of Rat Ogres, and a literal army of Gutter Runners.

Watch out, because the rules have changed… and certainly not in your favour.

Gameplay Programmer, Tom Batsford, has but one piece of advice on this new update: “Prepare to Cry”.

This new difficulty will be released soon for free to all current and future owners of Vermintide.
