Two new operators, a new gorgeous map, and a major UI update comes as part of the Velvet Shell patch for Rainbow Six: Siege.
The operators, Mira and Jackal, both look to shake up the competitive, pulse-pounding gameplay of the online modes in a variety of ways. The attacker, Jackal, who makes use of the C7E Canadian assault rifle and a variant of the UDP-9, can track enemy footsteps, which change colors, depending on how close you are to their current position.
His counterpart, Mira, who uses the Vector and a variant of the Italian STF 12, can put up bulletproof one-way windows in normal or reinforced walls, giving players more vision and knowledge. Also coming with this update is a new UI and homepage. Compared to the old launch page, which was functional at best, the new page is sleeker, and allows for more information to be displayed on-screen.
Jackal and Mira come as part of the Year 2 content cycle for Siege, a wave of four major free updates for the game. Players that didn’t buy into the season pass will have to wait a week to get their hands on the new GEO operators, but the map is available now to all.
