The latest free update for Titanfall 2 is titled ‘Monarch Reigns’, and it’s coming this Tuesday. The newest update brings the first new Titan to Titanfall 2 since release last fall, a remastered map, two new Prime Titans, a new execution, and new cosmetics available for purchase.

The big news about the new Titan, Monarch, is that she plays fundamentally different than the other Titans released so far. Instead of offering a massive, yet temporary power spike, Monarch gives pilots the ability to select upgrades to enhance her abilities, so long as she stays alive. Described as a “mid-range Vanguard-class Titan,” Monarch has the ability to drain energy from enemy Titans to either recharge her own shields, or the shields of her allies. More details on Monarch are promised to come in the next few days.

The next map coming to Titanfall 2 is a remake of Titanfall 1’s Relic map with the same name. Situated above the Colony map, during the events of the first Titanfall, the IMC was forced to scuttle the IMS Odyssey, and a town was salvaged from the wreckage. With plenty of wall-running avenues and areas for overwatch, Relic adds in another excellent map to Titanfall 2’s pool. Collision changes and new cosmetics will appear in the store with the patch as well, and following the Monarch Reigns update, a major balancing pass will go live some time later.

Monarch and her update go live on May 30th, bringing double XP and more content to all players.
