It’s been awhile since I last reported on the latest and greatest involving Ubisoft’s monster hit of 2016, Tom Clancy’s The Division, but today marks a special day as the team behind the game happily announces the upcoming launch of Update 1.6 and its third expansion, Last Stand.
Tomorrow, February 28th, all Season Pass owners on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Uplay/Steam platforms can start downloading the third expansion to The Division. Last Stand is also a standalone DLC for those not keen on buying into season passes, and will probably retail for $14.99 USD if previous Expansion pricing are anything to go by.
Also coming with the newest update and content will be a free trial pass, giving new players the opportunity to check out The Division completely free of charge up until March 9th. Although new players will have ample time to check out the game, and all progress will continue over if they do buy into the game, it’s quite a bit on the limited side, with a cap of Level 8 or by putting in 6 hours of playtime.
In Last Stand, after the events of a Dark Zone session gone badly, with civilization spiraling out of control, the JTF (Joint Task Force) had little option but to evacuate the area. Among the chaos and panic, several important tactical terminals (SHD Tech Data) have been left behind, players will be tasked with joining a group with seven other Division Agents in order to retrieve said items from a pack of Rogue Agents closing in on the valuable items.
Introducing players to new ways of experiencing The Division’s Dark Zone through session-based competitive game modes with clear objectives and conditions in order to win, all while including many key elements from the Dark Zone we all know and love so well. Plenty of PvE bad guys, landmarks to explore and teams of 8 Agents vs 8 Rogues, all fighting for area dominance, with hopes of leaving players with some very memorable moments.
With the newest Expansion giving players a new stomping ground, as well as a new Incursion (Stolen Signal) and plenty of other tweaks, fixes and changes from Update 1.6, releasing alongside Last Stand, both combined will give gamer’s a robust, content filled boost of awesomeness the game so desperately needs.
For a complete list of everything included with tomorrow’s massive content infusion to The Division, head on over to the Tom Clancy’s The Division official site for details. Be sure to check out both videos above and below before you jump into the game, good luck Agents!

When the situation in the Dark Zone spiraled out of control and all semblance of civilization collapsed, the Joint Task Force had no choice but to withdraw from the area. In the chaos of their departure, they left behind important tactical terminals – SHD tech data relays loaded with operational information – and now rogue agents are closing in to capture them. In Last Stand, players will join a team with seven other Division agents on a mission to prevent that from happening and ensure the Division agents regain control of the situation.
Last Stand introduces players to a new way of experiencing the Dark Zone through a session-based adversarial game mode featuring clear objectives and win conditions while incorporating key elements of the Dark Zone such as PvE enemies and landmarks. Players will be on a team of eight Division agents fighting against a team of Rogue agents as they attempt to capture the tactical terminals. Last Stand will also include a new incursion, Stolen Signal.
The free Update 1.6 will release alongside Last Stand and provides robust, new content for existing players including an expanded Dark Zone map with three new areas unlocked, new Contamination events that take place in an underground location in the Dark Zone, new exotic weapons and landmarks, Dark Zone leaderboards, and the new Legendary mode which provides an increased challenge for the top players of Tom Clancy’s The Division.
