Following the surprise reveal of Nier: Automata at Square Enix’s E3 Press Conference in 2015, details have been slim pickings for its PC port. Square Enix recently hosted a Q&A session via Facebook for the game (in English no less!), featuring designers, producers, and director Yoko Taro himself.
With the release of Nier: Automata just weeks away, we know that Platinum Games has been hard at work on the PC port, but designer Takahisa Taura said that if he “said anything, ninjas from SE would try to kill me, so I’ve got nothing to announce.” …charming.
If you never got a chance to play the original Nier on the Xbox 360 or the PlayStation 3, the team says that if Automata sells “like hotcakes,” we could see a remaster or a re-release in the works. As someone who has played the original, it oozes charm and originality, if lacking polish, but still definitely worth a playthrough.
The full transcript is available over at NeoGAF, and if the interview is anything to go by, Nier: Automata is going to be quite the experience when it makes its way over here on March 3rd.
