Looking to ape some of the success in Black Ops 3’s Multiplayer Starter Pack, this low-price buy-in at $15 nets you access to all of the game content, save the operators, in Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege. Unlocking operators works a little differently in the Siege Starter Pack. In the base game, unlocking any of the standard operators costs anywhere from 500-2000 Renown, the lower end of which represents roughly 1.5 wins. In the Starter Pack however, you get 2 free operators, and then 600 R6 Credits, to either spend on visual customization, or you can unlock two more operators for 300 each. Unlocking any further operators costs a whopping 12,500 Renown, which may be anywhere from 10-15 hours of play in competitive modes.
Regardless, there is nothing locked behind a paywall and all further content updates will be made available to those who purchase the starter pack. As someone who greatly enjoyed Siege when it first released, a promotion like this is sure to bolster the player counts, and bring in some fresh talent to the scene. The promotion runs from June 2nd to the 16th, and will be $15 the entire time.
The Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Starter Edition provides access to the full Rainbow Six Siege game with all content available: modes, maps, weapon options, level progression, post-launch content, servers and matchmaking options.
The main difference from the Standard Edition of the game is how you will unlock the 20 original Operators.
If you buy the starter edition, you will retain full access to the game and all its content even after the 2 week sale is over.
You will unlock instantly:
o 2 Operators at random from a pool of the most intuitive operators at entry level: Rook, Sledge, Ash, Fuze, Mute, and Smoke. The selection is made so that we can guarantee a great Rainbow Six Siege experience from the start.
o 600 R6 Credits to spend on either 2 additional Operators (300 R6 Credits each) or other additional content
– Unlock the remaining Original Operators (GIGN, SAS, GSG9, SPETSNAZ, FBI)
– It requires 12,500 Renown or 300 R6 Credits to unlock 1 Operator
– It takes approx. 15 hours to unlock 1 operator using in-game Renown
– Access to all Post-Launch Operators (JTF2, Navy SEALs and upcoming CTUs):
– It requires 25,000 Renown or 600 R6 Credits to unlock 1 Operator
– The Season Pass (sold seperately) immediately unlocks all Post-Launch Operators
