From February 2nd to the 5th, Ubisoft’s Rainbow 6: Siege will be free to play for one and all during the 3 day event.

The full game, barring premium DLC of course, will have its progression saved in the event of a full purchase after playing over the free weekend. So for those sitting on the fence, or those who just like free stuff, this will be a good time to jump in and check it out, and with all progress, characters and upgrades carrying over after the free play event, you’ll be good and ready to continue the fun if you do decide.

The timing of this, so close on the heels of Stage 2 being put into motion, is certainly no coincidence. Whether it will bring new people on board remains to be seen, but past experience had taught me that free weekends do tend to snap up at least a few new faces. Especially if coupled with a sale price, which will almost certainly come into effect this weekend as well, just don’t quote me on that, it’s pure speculation in my part.
