Quake Champions is going to receive a considerable update on 14 December adding a bunch of new features. Perhaps most notable is new character Keel, returning from Quake 3 Arena. His active ability is Grenade Swarm which allows him to launch a barrage of grenades. His passive ability is Stockpile, which reduces Grenade Swarm’s cooldown whenever he picks up an ammo box. Keel will be free to players who own the full Champions Pack and purchasable via the in-game store for everyone else.
Additionally there’s going to be a new Duel mode map: Vale of Pnath. Dedicated to 1v1 and 2v2 battles, the Vale is a vertical shrine to Elder God Ithagnil built atop acid filled caverns. The map is free to everyone. There’s also the addition of ranked play and leaderboards, and a holiday event with themed items such as animated Champion shaders, weapon shaders, decorations on Burial Chamber, and more. Lastly the final new feature is crosshair customisation with 40 options and a colour slider.
id Software has continued to update and improve Quake Champions throughout Early Access based on the feedback and requests of the player community.
