Touting the new and incredibly attractive McLaren 720S, pre-orders for Project CARS 2 open today, with an expected release date of “Late 2017.

Boasting more than 170 cars and the “largest track roster of any console racing game ever,” plus VR and resolution support for up to 12K for PC players, hopefully Slightly Mad Studios and Bandai Namco can put the performance troubles of Project CARS behind them. What good is a beautiful racing game without an obnoxious number of collectors editions to come with it? Project CARS 2 boasts three variants of a special edition: the Limited Edition, the Collector’s Edition, and the Ultra Edition.

Your basic Limited Edition comes with Project CARS 2, a sticker pack, a download code for four iconic Japanese cars, like Nissan’s Skyline GT-R, or Honda’s 2&4 Concept, all packaged in a steelbook case. The Limited Edition will surprisingly cost the same ($59.99 USD) as the Standard Edition.

The Collector’s Edition comes with everything in the Limited Edition, plus a 200-page artbook, a 1/43 scale die-cast model of the McLaren 720S, an “Esports VIP Live Pass,” which is a badge that gets you into Esports events for Project CARS 2, a Motorsport car pack, which adds in cars like the 1974 Jaguar E-Type V12, and the 1991 Audi V8 DTM, and the season pass. All this comes wrapped up in a box, and does not have a price tag at this time.

Finally, the Ultra Edition comes with everything in the Collector’s Edition, plus a sketchbook detailing the design process of the McLaren 720S, an embroidered snap-back hat, and in lieu of the 1/43 McLaren 720S, it’s replaced with a 1/12 model of the same car. The Ultra Edition is limited to 1,000 copies, and begs the question of worth, though without a price, it’s hard to gauge just how much it’s going to cost.

There’s no telling if PC owners will be able to purchase these limited editions for their platform of choice, but in the meantime, Project CARS 2 can be pre-ordered on Steam.

The Ultra Edition then adds a signed poster, an individually-numbered Snapback cap and a McLaren Sketchbook – which is an official collaboration with McLaren that follows the development of the 720S (the successor to the 650S that launches McLaren Automotive’s Super Series into its second generation) from inception, through design, to engineering. The Ultra Edition is available on PS4, Xbox One and PC exclusively at Amazon.

Project CARS 2 will be fully-supported post-launch with new, bold additional content that will enhance and extend the overall experience. All these additions will be available to Season Pass holders.
