Obsidian Turns to the Dark Side With Tyranny

Over the past eight months Obsidian Entertainment have been revealing information more and more about the dark and foreboding world of Tyranny. Now however, they have finally revealed their own true motivations. Not only is Obsidian releasing a game where evil wins, but they are turning evil themselves. Their first step being the evil pre-purchases for their evil game!

Ok, I’m jesting. Obsidian are actually a great games developer, not evil at all. Though it’s kind of fitting that they should promote an “evil” pre-purchase package. But seriously if you want to “sell out”, then all the package prices and details are on Paradox store and Steam, and it’s very unlikely that Tyranny will be anything less than a brilliant game.

If you’re on the side of ”good” though, and you prize patience as a virtue, you won’t have long to wait. Tyranny’s launch date is set less than a month away, on the 10th of November.

Official Press Release

STOCKHOLM and IRVINE, Calif. — Oct. 13, 2016 — Paradox Interactive today unveiled the release date for Tyranny, the new role-playing game (RPG) from Obsidian Entertainment. Tyranny, a game that challenges players to find their place in an original fantasy realm where evil has conquered the known world, will be available for Windows, Mac, and Linux PCs on November 10, 2016. Starting today, players can pre-order Tyranny in advance of the game’s launch, and secure bonus material that will help demonstrate their loyalty to Kyros the Overlord.

Pre-orders for Tyranny are available in three versions, all of which will include bonus content and extras alongside the full game. The Commander Edition is $44.99, the Archon Edition is $59.99, and the Overlord Edition, which comes with every piece of premium content, is $79.99.

In Tyranny, the grand war between good and evil has already finished – and the forces of evil, led by Kyros the Overlord, have won. Players interact with the populace to inspire loyalty, disgust, or fear as they roam the world as an officer in Kyros’ forces, empowered to act as both judge and executioner. A nonlinear story offers players the chance to roam and alter the world as they see fit, and provides a highly replayable experience.
