TaleWorlds Entertainment has dropped a few more details with a near seven minute long gameplay trailer for its upcoming sequel to their award winning Mount & Blade series today during the Gamescom event held in Cologne, Germany. As development continues, the team behind Mount & Blade II wish to direct gamers attention to a few of the many advancements being enforced into the more strategic elements of Bannerlord. Players will discover a newly implemented diplomatic affairs interface in which they can both conduct diplomacy on a personal, and of the state variety. These new features give us the choices of waging siege war with weapons, or with words via a strategic parley, or using your sharp tongue to persuade the king to strike against his most vehement of rivals.

What lies inside the games true core is the epic siege battles and thrill of glorious and visceral combat in a replicated feudal world of war, politics and conspiracies. Using your influence ingame that you acquire within your faction puts the player at the head of the negotiating table, where we can choose to wage war with bloody savagery, or with policy and wit. Strike the best option with both friend and foe to invoke epic game-changing deals to sway things your way. One can always choose to abdicate if the tides of war are shifting against your forces, offering up land, goods or that stockpile of gold you’ve been hoarding. Bannerlord promises to advance this series in every aspect, offering plenty of variety for those with a bloodlust for power, or those whom wish to take a more civil and noble path to the throne.

Before heading out, be sure to check out the massive siege battles Mount & Blade II has in store with the above Gamescon gameplay trailer, and of course, for further details, do check out the press release down below.
