Mirage: Arcane Warfare’s New Gladiator Update

Posted on 20 Jul 2017

Torn Banner Studios are pleased to announce a massive new ‘Gladiator Update’ for their competitive, skill-based multiplayer FPS, Mirage: Arcane Warfare. Hopefully, this will stoke the fire under people’s arses, ’cause Mirage could really, really, really use an influx of fresh blood… with today’s peak of 25 players, and only 12 currently playing, things don’t look good. To put that into perspective, their previous game, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare (2012) currently has 997 people playing, with a peak of  1,184.

Anywho, today’s update brings with it 10 new language localisations so more than just English/Russian players can enjoy it. We also received the much requested bot-assisted server functionality, as AI opponents fill the void of the lacking player-base to keep rounds going. The new powerful Taurant Class, a two-handed Greatsword wielding maniac to cleave enemies in half, as well as several new magic abilities for various other existing characters to play around with. Official Press Release

Massive Gladiator Update for MIRAGE: ARCANE WARFARE brings bots and new maps

New content includes new weapon, magic abilities, bots, new maps and localisation of 12 total languages in first free post-release update

TORONTO, CANADA, July 20, 2017Mirage: Arcane Warfare, the skill-based multiplayer FPS from the creators of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare received its first big addition of new content since launching on Steam May 23, with the massive Gladiator Update.

The update includes new weapons and new Arenas, and the addition of language localisation, adding

10 new languages to bring the total up to 12. In addition to English and Russian, Mirage: Arcane Warfare is now also fully localised in French, Italian, Spanish, German, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Portuguese Brazilian.

The Gladiator Update will also add a much-requested new feature with the implementation of bot-assisted servers. On select 6v6 and 3v3 maps and modes, AI opponents will be added or removed as players join or leave to keep the teams populated and even throughout the match.

The powerful Taurant class will have a new double-handed Greatsword while the other characters will receive new magic abilities to punish their enemies in battle. More details about the new weapons and abilities can be found here.

Players can explore these new tools of chaos in two new Arena maps, the Pit and Old Arena. Both Arena maps feature smaller areas for more intense 3 on 3 combat action.

Veteran players of Mirage: Arcane Warfare who have achieved higher rankings will also get their own special new content in The Gladiator Update. New armour variant unlocks will be available to those high-ranking players, with exclusive colour gradients per team.

In Mirage: Arcane Warfare, the calm of a strange fantasy world is shattered by ruthless civil war. Warriors armed with steel and magic bring violence and death as they do battle across a fantastical Arabian and Persian-inspired setting of desert sands, market bazaars and grand palaces. Built using the powerful new capabilities of Unreal Engine 4, Mirage: Arcane Warfare presents visually stunning backdrops to some viscerally brutal multiplayer combat.
