Starting March 27th, players who have and will pre-order Mirage: Arcane Warfare will get access to a long-running Closed Beta period, which will be available until the full game’s release sometime in 2017.

In development since work finished on Torn Banner’s earlier title: Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, Mirage moves away from the muddy battlefields of castle walls and burned-out villages, exchanging them for a brighter color palette of magenta, yellows, bronzes, and other desert-inspired colors.

The closed beta brings six character classes, three of which have yet to be detailed in videos, plus the first reveal of the Entropist class, a portly mage that flies around on a magic carpet and casts deadly spells from a staff. Ten maps will be made available to players, each supporting a variety of modes, and the Closed Beta will also come with skill-based matchmaking, and a server browser. All that, and it’s just in Closed Beta.

Owners of Chivalry will also see a 10% reduction on both the Standard Edition and the Special Edition of Mirage, which run €27,99/£22.99 and €36.99/£29.99 respectively. Various customizations, the official soundtrack, a collection of official art and loot boxes come with the Special Edition, plus the inclusion of the complete Chivalry package may be enough to tempt quite a few people into buying the Special edition.

Regardless of your options, the Closed Beta opens up on March 27th all the same.
