Meet the Marcano’s and Mafia III’s System Req’s

A few days ago, 2K Games have released another installment from their “Inside Look” series, detailing the people and places within the Mafia III universe. This week we get a little history lesson about the ruthless Marcano family, who have been in power for several decades and currently headed by Don Sal Marcano. Even though the Marcano’s are the powers that be in New Bordeaux, having full reign over the city and its inhabitants, they still answer to someone else.

Leo Galante, whom some of you may remember from Mafia II, is the man Sal Marcano and his family kick up to, basically given total power to do as they please but it comes with strings attached. It seems the Marcano’s little crime syndicate is the “Florida” of the Mafia world, being the resting place for Mafioso’s who don’t have much use or not worthy enough to rub elbows with the best of the best.

Georgie is Sal’s son, and who the Don trusts more than any other, grooming him with the eventual goal of taking over as head of the Marcano family. The thing is, Georgie isn’t exactly a chip off the ol’ block like his dear old dad. A very ambitious man, who’s goals and desires conflict with that of his fathers, ultimately lacking the experience needed to become the new Don.

2K Games have finally revealed what gamers need “under the hood” in order to get the best out of their Mafia III experience.

Minimum Requirements:

• Windows 7 64-bit
• Intel i5-2500k or AMD FX-8120
• 6GB RAM
• GeForce GTX 660 or Radeon HD 7870
• 2GB VRAM
• 50GB’s of free space

Recommended Requirements:

• Windows 7 64-bit or above
• Intel i7-3770 or AMD FX 8359 4.0Ghz
• 8GB RAM
• GeForce GTX 780/1060 or Radeon R9 290X
• 4GB VRAM
• 50GB’s of free space

It’s good to see that Mafia III doesn’t require a super-computer in order to run it, even my aging near 5 year old rig shouldn’t have much trouble getting this going at acceptable performance levels. Let’s all hope that the hardworking crew over at 2K Games have optimized the game well enough to run on the semi-modest requirements listed above and not that they downgraded or cut a lot of corners in order to achieve it.

We’ll find out how well it looks and performs in a few weeks when it launches on October 7th.
