2K games and Hangar 13 have released the newest edition of their ongoing ‘Inside Look’ series, providing an in-depth peek at some of the characters, locations and the development of their upcoming open-world action sequel, Mafia III. We’ve briefly discussed in the past a few of these Inside Look featurettes, but this week we are treated to the ninth installment, simply titled ‘Burke’, with a personal highlight from members of Hangar 13’s writing team about the relationship and situations between Mafia III’s lead character, Lincoln Clay, and the leader of the Irish mob of New Bordeaux’s Thomas Burke. The two unlikely friends team up with the common goal of taking down the powerful Marcano family.

In other great news, especially for all those music aficionados out there like myself, comes details of Mafia III’s officially licensed soundtrack. Boasting a very respectable list of over one hundred of the most iconic in music histories genre-defining 1960s tracks. These quintessentially classic sounds that defined an era will undoubtedly help the players to connect and further immerse themselves into the booming world of 1968 New Bordeaux. I for one can’t wait to be cruising down the mean streets of the fictional New Orleans city with the sounds of The Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Beach Boys, Cream, Iron Butterfly, Jefferson Airplane and Johnny Cash, just to name a few, blasting through my cars radio.
