The latest free DLC for Titanfall 2 adds in new maps, updates loadouts, and brings changes to game-mode playlists. “The War Games” DLC sees the return of the eponymous map from Titanfall, with tight, interconnected passageways near the center of the map for pilot duels, while the map spreads out on the edges, making for the perfect place for Titan brawls. No new Prime Titans make an appearance this time, though coming off of the Monarch Reigns release last month, it’s not a surprise that tweaking Titans has been pushed to the back burner for a bit.
The other new map tagging along is another addition to the Live Fire map pool, which, if you can’t remember, are short, 6v6 pilot-only duels that take place in claustrophobic arenas and are a test of your reflexive abilities. The new Live Fire map is named “Traffic,” due to the placement of two major thoroughfares near the top of the map. Along with the release of two new maps is the announcement that the loadout system from Titanfall would be returning; that is, pilots now carry a primary rifle, a secondary sidearm, and an anti-Titan weapon.
Previously, players had to choose between the secondary and the anti-Titan armament, so this change could see the balance of power shift towards the Pilots for the next month or so. We’ll see if Respawn chooses to tweak game balance any further. For full patch notes, you can check them out here, otherwise, we’ll see you on the Frontier.
