Ninja Theory, the guys behind Heavenly Sword and DMC: Devil May Cry, have been putting work in on their new game Hellblade for more than a year now and a lot has changed in that time including it getting a subtitle. Hellblade has evolved into Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice and Senua has been transformed into a beautiful work of motion-capture tech.
Senua is still psychotic mentally, but she’s gone through some major improvements visually. Ninja Theory is using some pretty space age motion-capture technology to put every wrinkle, eye twitch, and ounce of personality they can into Senua. From what we’ve seen, Senua looks just as good as Laura Croft does in the new Tomb Raiders.
Just like Nariko before her, Ninja Theory is aiming for a visually believable, strong, female main character, and it’s looking fantastic so far.
The other rumor floating around has to do with this tweet:
You can look, but you can't touch… #OculusRift #virtualreality #London pic.twitter.com/sObuC41E9z

Ninja Theory has been listed as one of Sony’s big developers supporting VR, and this tweet of what looks like Hellblade being played in VR just came out. At Gamescom 2014 Hellblade looked very controller and screen based, but you can never predict what Ninja Theory will do next, so maybe this is a bid by them to set the game apart from other titles.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is planned to release for PC and PS4 sometime in 2016.
